Clachtoll and Surrounds, 9th-12th June 2011
Freya had been asking when we'd go back to "The Chicken Campsite"

She couldn't wait to get onto the beach...

Evening light on Clachtoll beach

A wee bit past bedtime...

The chickens took some time deciding which girl to eat first.
After a late start we headed South to Achnahaird beach for some scrambling, paddling and snoozing in the sun

We stayed until dinner time, enjoying the changing light across the bay and the Coigach, Inverpolly and Assynt hills

Roe deer. A large area at the west of Inverpolly has been damaged in a wildfire in April, but the green shoots are taking over again

The next day we went to Achmelvich to enjoy another fine beach

Approaching down a gully

Laybacking

Quiet time

Not-so-quiet time

Investigating a boulder cave above the beach

Packing up at Clachtoll campsite; chickens assisting with the hoovering

Stowaway!

A final visit to Clachtoll beach

Satisfied with the trip!

Freya wanted to be left in place. We'll pick her up next time we're back...
